2012 HIRA Annual Conference

The HIRA 2011 annual conference was recently held at the Hilton Nashville Downtown in Nashville, Tennessee June 22-24, 2011. The conference was well attended by both manufacturers’ reps and allied manufacturers. The two-day conference provided a lot of information and education to the attendees as well as an excellent networking opportunity.

The first morning began with a pilot program designed to assist our allied members to better understand, develop, support, and maximize their relationship with the independent manufacturer’s representative. This program was presented by two of our service providers members; Frank McKinney with Mojo Consulting and Joe Rini with Joe Rini consulting. The program was very well received by all the allied members who were in attendance. We plan to offer this program again at future conferences.

Many of our Allied members also exhibited their products during the conference. This gave them the opportunity to meet prospective representatives and to network with fellow manufacturers. This program was very successful and received high marks from the manufacturers who participated.

This year’s kickoff speaker was David Houle, a futurist, whose presentation was entitled, “The New Health Age: A high level look at the future of healthcare and medicine in America”.

The Health Industry Representatives Association focuses on promoting the manufacturers' rep function within the health care industry. Its members are independent sales agencies located across the nation who offer manufacturers a professional, highly qualified sales force. Additionally, allied members are manufacturers who support the continuing use of independent sales agencies to market their products.

 
HIRA Membership Directory

The online directory is the most-used source by manufacturers who are looking for independent sales representatives. All member sales representative agencies and allied manufacturers are listed on the directory.

Representatives indicate their primary market areas, and searches can by done by territory or by specific markets in which they specialize. Access to the directory is a benefit of HIRA membership.
