2012 HIRA Annual Conference

July 18-20, 2012
The Allerton Hotel
Chicago, IL

Dear HIRA Members,

Your HIRA Conference Committee is working vigorously for you to provide a spectacular HIRA Annual Conference in Chicago, IL. Again, the dates of this year’s conference are July 18-20, 2012, at the historic Allerton Hotel. What do we have to offer to our valued members? Allow me to list a few particulars we have on the agenda.

Tuesday, July 17 HIRA Golf Tournament at a challenging, yet fun course in the Chicago area. Past President Tom Pruitt is co-chairman of this event & is working with his local pro shop to secure a memorable event for all who wish to play. Contact Shannon Reddish at the HIRA office for registration to this fun event. It is a SCRAMBLE format starting at approximately 1:30 pm.

Wednesday, July 18 Opening ceremonies will commence at approximately 12:30 pm. We have a host of dynamic speakers committed to this year’s HIRA conference. But, before I tell you more about the topics that will be covered, let me tell you about our entertainment night out!

Wednesday, July 18 Thanks to our current HIRA president, Barry Petrigala, who has Cubs season tickets, we will be attending the Cubs game that night at legendary Wrigley Field. THERE IS NO EXTRA COST FOR YOU TO ATTEND THIS EVENT!! We will have a private room inside the Stadium Club of Wrigley Field Stadium. Chefs choice dinner buffet from 5 – 7 pm (no hot dogs & hamburgers for our members this night), adult beverages and most importantly, 2 hours of networking for all of us. At 7:10 pm, we have a block of “very favorable” seats on the 3rd base line to watch the game. HIRA will provide transportation to and from the ballpark for our members staying at the Allerton Hotel.

  • What topics will be discussed during the conference?
  • Are you keeping up with the new trend of Social Media to conduct your business?
  • Just because you are incorporated, are you SURE the courts would view you as a corporation? You will be surprised what our guest speaker will share with you!
  • What is an iPad and how can that “thing” help me in my business? We have an Apple Store demonstration scheduled for our entire group to learn about this new technology.
  • There will be a speaker on credentialing and where is it leading us?

And many more speakers that will interest you, regardless if you are in Acute care, DME or Alternate care. Your committee is choosing subjects that will help you run your business better when you leave this conference.

Don’t miss out on this meeting. This is the only opportunity you will have to “rub elbows” with fellow Independent Manufacturer Reps (IMR’s) from around the country and to network with some new manufacturers looking for good, sharp IMR’s. Maybe it’s time for you to get off the side lines and get into the game!
